LCSW-CI aid clients in clarifying challenges that arise in daily life, formulating actionable solutions, and gaining deeper insights into themselves that result in better overall functioning and integration of the whole person. I tailor evidenced-based practices and a compassionate, humanistic approach to each client, ensuring that each session is specifically geared to that client’s unique needs. My eclectic approach includes techniques gleaned from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and traditional psychoanalytic schools. I currently specialize in trauma work and have obtained my CCTP certification (certified clinical trauma professional). I also have training in EMDR, one of the most cutting-edge treatment modalities for addressing trauma, which I employ with clients in need of this specialization. I currently work with adults, children/adolescents, couples and families.
I have been providing therapy services as a licensed clinical social (LCSW-C) in a variety of contexts since 2015 and am a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Prior to my therapeutic work, I was an international photojournalist and war correspondent who interacted with individuals of many cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, faiths and worldviews.
